Savory Feast Signature Dining

Crafted for the Social Table

Savory Feast's signature dishes are more than meals—they are expressions of New Zealand's finest ingredients, designed to be shared and savored in the refined atmosphere of our offline poker lounge. Each dish is a collaboration between our chef and local producers, evolving with the seasons to ensure freshness and variety. The menu is intentionally paced to complement the social, unhurried rhythm of the lounge, where conversation and company matter as much as the food itself. There is no online gambling, betting, or monetary value involved—only the physical pleasure of a beautifully prepared plate.

Our Philosophy

A Shared Table, A Shared Spirit

Designed for Conversation

Our signature dishes are designed for the social dynamics of the lounge—dishes that encourage conversation, sharing, and a sense of occasion, much like a well-played hand. The menu features shareable plates and individually plated masterpieces, so guests can move between focused play and relaxed dining without breaking the evening's rhythm.

Bold Yet Balanced

Flavors are bold yet balanced, mirroring the strategic play at the tables. We avoid overpowering the palate, instead building layers of taste that reward attention and patience. Presentation is elegant but never fussy, keeping focus on the company and the game rather than on theatrical plating.

A Physical Space Only

The poker lounge is a physical space only; there are no online elements. This commitment to offline presence shapes every aspect of the dining experience, from the weight of the cutlery to the timing of each course. Guests are invited to be fully present, whether they are studying a hand or savoring a bite.

Signature Selection

A Trio of Excellence

Three more signature dishes that define the Savory Feast table, each built around a single exceptional ingredient and a clear point of view.

Seared scallops with golden crust, drizzled with kawakawa butter on a bed of watercress

Seared Scallops with Kawakawa Butter

Plump scallops seared to golden perfection, finished with a fragrant kawakawa-infused butter and served on a bed of watercress. The scallops come from the Marlborough Sounds, where cold, clear water gives them a clean sweetness. Kawakawa leaves are foraged locally and lend a gentle, herbal note that lifts the richness of the butter.

Slow-braised lamb shoulder pulled and arranged on a rustic platter with crispy shallots and minted pea purée

Slow-Braised Lamb Shoulder

Lamb shoulder braised for eight hours with rosemary and garlic, pulled and served with a minted pea purée and crispy shallots. The lamb comes from a Hawke's Bay farm known for its careful husbandry. The dish is designed for sharing, echoing the communal spirit of the lounge and inviting guests to pass plates between hands.

Slice of dark chocolate and feijoa tart with vanilla bean ice cream and feijoa compote

Dark Chocolate and Feijoa Tart

A decadent tart with a dark chocolate ganache and tangy feijoa compote, finished with a scoop of vanilla bean ice cream. Feijoas are sourced from an orchard in the Waikato, where the fruit develops its distinctive aromatic tang. The dessert offers a sweet finish to the dining experience, balancing richness with bright acidity.

Local Sourcing

Rooted in the Land

Our kitchen works directly with farmers, fishers, and foragers across New Zealand to source the freshest ingredients, ensuring every dish reflects the country's diverse terroir. Produce comes from the Wellington region and beyond, arriving daily and often still carrying the scent of the soil. Seafood is drawn from sustainable fisheries, chosen for both quality and responsibility. Native herbs like horopito and kawakawa are foraged responsibly, with respect for the landscapes that produce them. This direct relationship with producers means the menu can change quickly when a crop peaks or a catch is exceptional.

Our Producer Partners

  • Canterbury Venison Family-owned farm, open pasture
  • Marlborough Sounds Scallops Sustainable hand-harvested fishery
  • Hawke's Bay Lamb Careful husbandry, free-range flocks
  • Waikato Feijoas Family orchard, tree-ripened fruit
  • Local Foragers Horopito and kawakawa, responsibly gathered

The Lounge Pairing

Dishes for the Table

Small Plates, Big Conversations

Our menu includes a selection of small plates perfect for sharing between hands, allowing guests to graze without interrupting the flow of the game. Dishes like the seared scallops and lamb shoulder are ideal for sharing, with portions designed to be enjoyed over an evening rather than consumed in a single course.

A Refined Pace

Dining at Savory Feast is unhurried, matching the deliberate pace of a well-played poker game. Courses are timed to allow guests to enjoy both the food and the play, with service that is attentive but unobtrusive. The lounge and dining areas are seamlessly connected, so a guest can move from the table to the plate without losing the thread of the evening.

The Perfect Pairing

Our sommelier has curated a wine list that complements both the dishes and the lounge atmosphere, with options ranging from robust reds to crisp whites. Wines come from New Zealand's top regions, selected to match the char, spice, and sweetness of the signature plates. Non-alcoholic options are also available, including house-made sodas and seasonal infusions.

Chef's Note

From the Chef's Table

"Each signature dish tells a story of New Zealand—its landscapes, its people, and its produce. I want every bite to feel like a discovery, much like a well-played hand reveals its secrets."

— Head Chef, Savory Feast

The chef draws inspiration from traditional Māori cooking techniques, and experimentation with native ingredients is a hallmark of the kitchen. This creative process keeps the menu alive, with new dishes appearing as the seasons shift and new producer relationships form.

Guest Experience

An Evening to Remember

"The venison was extraordinary, and the atmosphere in the lounge made the whole evening feel special. It's rare to find a place that excels at both food and social play."

— Sarah M., Wellington
